Telford Fossil Festival 2026

Step back in time and discover the incredible world of fossils at the Telford Fossil Festival, where we'll have something for young and old fossil lovers!

Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June 2026
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Whether you're a lifelong fossil enthusiast or just curious about the ancient world, there’s something for everyone at this exciting two-day festival. Visitors can enjoy a rich programme of fossil talks and live shows led by experts in the field.

Highlights include a special live talk, “The Secret Lives of Dinosaurs,” presented by Dr Dean Lomax and Bob Nicholls, offering fascinating insights into how dinosaurs may have lived, behaved, and evolved.
Talk from Jack Wonfor from Wight Coast Fossils (Saturday & Sunday).

Take part in a range of hands-on workshops, including fossil casting, fossil digging, and live demonstrations of fossil jacketing and preparation techniques. For those who want a true palaeontologist experience, there will even be opportunities to prepare fossils and take one home as a unique souvenir.

At the heart of the event is the Public Fossil Lab itself, where science comes alive. Throughout the weekend, guests will be able to witness the unveiling of a brand-new museum specimen, alongside talks that offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at real fossil research and conservation.
